I stayed at L’Hirondelle for 10 days and had a week of guitar lessons with Chris in April-May 2018. The accommodation was first rate, as was the home style cooking and French style breakfasts. The rural outlook and gardens are quite charming. Chris and Gail are hospitable, warm and enjoyable hosts. The surrounding area and local villages are quaint rural France at its best, and spring was a gorgeous time of year to see it, with spring flowers in abundance. Weather was still a little cool, so we were only able to enjoy the outside eating and terraces on a couple of occasions. A visit to the local market at a nearby village was a highlight.

Chris was a great guitar teacher. The focus was entirely on the student, and I realise after the week, that I never saw just how well he was able to play. At all times he played well within himself to help me to learn. I was given a range of pieces to play that covered from classical to classic rock and blues. Instruction was clear, patient, helpful and designed to increase my confidence. Jamming with Chris was a highlight for me. His little music den is a great place for musical retreat. I would thoroughly recommend these guitar weeks to guitar enthusiasts of all abilities.

A wonderful place to stay with a fantastically warm welcome, gorgeous food and comfy beds. Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Add to that the expert yet fun guitar tuition and it's been a pretty perfect week.

Upon my arrival at L’Hirondelle I was greeted by the hosts with a sincere warmth that is becoming quite rare in the modern commercial world in which we live.

I stayed for a week improving my guitar skills with Chris the undoubted master of guitar tuition.

The meals presented by Gail and Chris were some of the best examples of home cooked cuisine I have tasted in many a year.
